Oliver’s love of music and performance began with a Shania Twain CD from his mum’s collection at age four, and grew from there. Learning guitar and taking after-school drama classes from a very young age, he delighted in any opportunity to be on the stage.

In 2012, he moved from Christchurch, his hometown, to Brisbane, completed high school, and was accepted into The Queensland Conservatorium of Music’s brand new Musical Theatre program, which he graduated from in 2015. During his time at QCGU, Oliver’s roles included Will Parker (Oklahoma!), Jesus (Godspell), Bobby (A Chorus Line), and he featured in many of the program’s public performances throughout Brisbane.

Upon graduating, Oliver made his professional Australian debut in QPAC’s Spirit of Christmas 2015, played Freddy in the Matilda Award winning production of Carrie (Wax Lyrical Productions), and then Japan, where he was the Ravenclaw Student in Universal Studios Japan’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter Frog Choir for over a year.

Oliver is ecstatic to be returning to the Australian stage, and debuting as one of The TEN Tenors for their Wish You Were Here concert tour.

He is a little relieved that he’s not the first Kiwi in this fantastic Australian group, keeping the ANZAC spirit alive, and wants to thank his long-suffering family and friends who attend his performances religiously and are unwavering in their support for him. It means the world.
